Day 18: A Steady Zone 2 Run and Another Step Forward

Day 18 Running Result
Day 18 is in the books, and today’s session was all about keeping things slow, steady, and controlled. I completed a 4.9-kilometre zone 2 run in 47 minutes and 13 seconds, finishing with an average pace of 9 minutes and 37 seconds per kilometre.
It was not the fastest run, but speed was never the goal today. The main purpose was to stay within zone 2, maintain a comfortable effort, and build endurance without putting too much stress on the body. Building bone desnsity and muscles for future faster runs.
Looking Ahead
There is a risk that the next 10 blog entries will be very boring. It will be 10 days of slow shorter runs between 4 and 6 kilometers. The idea with building your body slowly, especially for beginners and runners over 50 means being patient. I started of with 2 weeks of walking only, now I'm 4 days into running, so far all 4 days have been slow zone 2 running. Except for Sunday which was rest day and only did a slow walk.
