Rediscovering My Strength

After 11 days of dedicated walking, I can feel the strength building within me. Each step taken has empowered my mind and body, reminding me just how crucial it is to listen to what my body needs. With every mile, my confidence grows, and the thought of transitioning back to running stirs excitement in my heart.

A Cautious Approach to Running

However, I need to remind myself of the two-month pause I took due to injuries. It’s essential to acknowledge that while my body feels stronger, I must not rush back into running too soon. My physiotherapy sessions are almost halfway complete, shaping my path to recovery. Every session has taught me valuable lessons on patience and the importance of gradual progress.

Listening to My Body's Needs

According to my own 114-day fitness program, which I created with the intention of ensuring a safe return to running, I need to sustain at least two weeks of walking before introducing slow jogging. The plan might feel challenging, but I recognize it’s part of the larger journey toward reclaiming my running routine. Today, I focused solely on my walking routine, completing an impressive 6.51 km in just 1 hour and 12 minutes. Each stride was a testament to my commitment and determination.

The fresh air against my face as I walked was invigorating. Imagining trees rushing past me at a faster pace sparks a thrill in me, and I can hardly wait to experience that again. For now, it's critical to embrace this walking phase, as it strengthens my foundation and prepares me for the next steps in my fitness journey.
